Masquerades Christmas pantomime ALADDIN takes us all the way to Old Peking where young Aladdin lives a simple life working away at Widow Twankey’s laundry along with his brother Wishee Washee. Things are going along quite smoothly until Aladdin dares to break the law and catch a glimpse of the breathtakingly beautiful Princess. For this unlawful deed, the Emperor charges his trusty Chinese Policemen with the task of bringing Aladdin to justice and Aladdin must do all he can to avoid them. As if that wasn’t bad enough, Aladdin is completely besotted by the Princess and knows in his heart of hearts that he will never find true happiness unless he was to marry her. However in recession-hit Old Peking, the Emperor would never allow his daughter to marry a penniless laundry-boy and it seems that Aladdin will be unhappy forever. Suddenly, a solution appears in the form of the wizard Apatizz who tells Aladdin about a powerful genie that can grant him three wishes. All Aladdin needs to do is find the magic lamp and bring it to him. But Apatizz is not to be trusted and Aladdin’s quest to win the heart of the Princess becomes a breathtaking adventure to save the entire kingdom.
ALADDIN features non-stop hilarity, vibrant characters, show-stopping musical numbers, and even a Giant Panda. Starring Malcolm Galea as Widow Twankey, Philip Stilon as Wishee Washee, Dorothy Bezzina as the Princess, Joseph Zammit as the Emperor and Louis Cassar as the evil Apatizz, this year’s Christmas panto is an event not to be missed!

Teatru Manoel, built in 1732 by Grand Master Antonio Manoel de Vilhena, and designed to provide Honest Entertainment to the Public, has gone through a lot of changes in its history. Today the Manoel is considered both by locals and by foreigners as being a magnificent jewel, existing humbly in the very centre of Valletta. Its mannerist exterior belies the majesty that one finds inside. Teatru Manoel enjoys a long history as the main contributor to the local cultural development and as an exponent of high quality productions. The theatre is an excellent venue for orchestral concerts, recitals, chamber concerts, straight drama and comedy, musicals, opera, childrens programmes and musical festivals. We also offer the service for private events and special tours.
Sala Isouard which is a separate venue mostly used for chamber music, is usually set up as a concert hall with seating accommodating over 200 patrons. Its configuration can be changed according to clients wishes and may be adapted to accommodate any kind of event.
The theatre museum, displays a large number of beautiful exhibits which are mostly donated by generous private collectors.
A bar, cafe and restaurant can be found in the Courtyard. A free Wi-Fi service is also available to all the patrons.
Last, but not least, the theatre makes available for hire a huge number of costumes from its Wardrobe, for use in parties and private plays, like school plays and other functions.
